As the Lakme Fashion Week Summer Resort 2018 commences today, we anticipated the celebrated designer to showcase yet another bridal collection. Much to our surprise, Ritu Kumar surprised us with her street style collection, Hip Hop Baroque. The fashion line is an amalgamation of street couture and rap culture. From metallic to velvet suits, Ritu Kumar’s latest collection is the perfect guidebook to ace the street style look. From fanny packs to mid-waist belts, everyone must try these trends.

While most of us are still sceptical of the emerging fanny pack trend, these looks not only prove that they look great but can also be carried off with panache. Whether it’s clipping it by your waist or on your shoulder, we now know that a funny pack is one of the coolest fashion accessories of the season.

Apart from the fanny packs, our lenses spotted the mid waist belts doing the rounds. Whether on dresses or on suits, the mid-waist belts look appealing and are extremely easy to style. 

Apart from statement pieces, Ritu Kumar's collection shed some light on a simple yet effective way to add some glamour to an otherwise dull outfit, hoop earrings. From an ultra glam dress to a simple jumpsuit, hoops can add oomph even to the dullest and most boring outfit.  

 

Speaking of the collection, the CEO of Label Ritu Kumar, Amrish said, "We wanted a street, urban collection. We wanted it to be symptomatic of a young culture and hip hop blended into it and that’s how it came about." Noticeably, the forthcoming trends, whether on the runway or at a bar, Spring/Summer fashion isn’t shy of a nostalgic trip down the 80s and the re-emergence of the trend is something we all want to indulge in.
